The staff were excellent, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. From the outside it looks like a halfway house or something with directions on the wall with spray paint to to entrance, but the room itself self was very good for the price, very clean, brew kit, tv, phone. Would definately stay again, just don't be put off from the outside.

The exterior, but the inside is very good, and thats what counts.

I liked the atmosphere within and around the place, because I had time and mood to enjoy myself.

Young people outside were ennoying the whole neighbourhood during the evening by talking very loudly and letting their car-motors running without driving. I had to complain about it, because I couldn't shut the window of my room properly (there was no handle) and therefore had to change the room during the night. Sunday morning had to be started with a cold shower!

Whatever the cost and general condition of the hotel you just cannot fault the breakfast. A seriously first class Full English! Egg, 2 Sausage, 2Back Bacon, Beans, Tomatoes, 2 Toast and tea or coffee. Well cooked, well presented and tasted great!!

An old building and tired decor and I just wish my room could have been aired before I checked in. There was a faint but persistent odour for the first night but keeping the window open did eventually alleviate that. Having said that I would still recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a budget solution and the breakfast is good value for money.

The location was great, within a few minutes of pubs etc, the reception staff were lovely too

There wasn't anything I could complain about

    Staff were very friendly.

It was a bit noisy at night, but I brought earplugs so it wasn't a problem.

The hotel is the nearest I have been to spending time in Cell Block H. Old, dirty, really noisy student club attached blasting out music til early hours. Failed to do my wake up call because they said the ringer was off on the telephone. Left blackberry charger plugged in wall socket when I checked out, went back in evening and it had disappeared. Hallways all echoey, rooms pokey, en suite pokier still. Awful experience never to be repeated. Ok only for young students using the club downstairs and needing somewhere to crash and recover from alcoholic stupor. Thankfully they will have no recollection of their stay!

The fact that it is literally a second away from a cosy little pub

The picture that is on the website for this hotel is completely different to what the room actually looks like and yes it may only cost £50 for a double room but that should not be replaced for cleanliness and standard of the rooms, the bedside lamps are without bulbs the bathroom was disgusting to say the least with two measly towels hung on the wall next to the toilet and as the main hotel is up the road (which ordinarily would not be problem) its not very practical if you need towels, pillows etc., there was also no soap in the bathroom so the hygiene of hand washing after using the toilet is abandoned unless you pack for every eventuality (which I do, towels soap bath mat etc.) the fittings in the bathroom were rusty and very outdated. The carpet in the main part of the room was dark so you can just imagine what kinds of things it would be hiding, the headboard for the bed was loose and covered in a number of stains which I dread to think of what they were. So all in all this I would not call this a hotel but a hostel for unknowing backpackers

Basic facilities. Clean but needs a refurb and painting.

£45 for a twin room when rest of Manchester was booked up! Don't know what the negative reviews were on about, yeah it's basic but again £45!!!! Great location will stay again

It was next to a club or something -- or at least neighbors with a huge sound system -- so if you're an early-to-bed person it can be quite noisy.

Good location for student area, curry mile.

The hotel is very tired and not a little grubby.

The price and location. All amenities quite close by.

The very poor, dirty state of the hall way carpet!

Good location...10 mins to city centre- on main bus route into city. Close to rusholme and the legendary curry mile...!!

Hotel very outdated- we were staying in a separate block from the hotel that had no reception and was just a block of rooms. Very basic accommodation.

    Nothing

Reception staff could hardly speak english. I had to walk to a different hotel to book in and the same to hand them back.

    the room was clean

the corridors leading to the rooms reminded me of a run down council flat. not nice. needs a lick of paint.
